Himalaya Shipping has an intention to pay out the majority of its free cash flow after debt service on a monthly basis. Any dividends declared in the future will be at the sole discretion of the Board and will depend upon earnings, market prospects, current capital expenditure programs and investment opportunities. The timing and amount of dividends, if any, is at the discretion of the Board. The Company cannot guarantee that its Board will declare dividends in the future.
The objective for Himalaya Shipping is to maximize shareholder returns from its fleet of twelve Newcastlemax vessels. The Group charters out the vessels with a significant premium and significantly lower emissions compared to a standard capesize vessel, to solid and reputable counterparties, and will focus on returning maximum capital to the shareholders through high dividend yield payouts. The Company has an opportunistic approach to growth and M&A, however it intends to be disciplined in its investment strategy to maximize shareholder returns.
The company’s financial strategy is to maximize returns on investment by maintaining low general and administrative (G&A) costs, implementing a robust and efficient financial debt structure, and pursuing a monthly distribution of a majority of free cash flow. Additionally, the company aims to drive revenue through strategic chartering and operational efficiency, creating a sustainable balance between income generation and cost management.
